Multi-Dimensional Raster Database. It provides agile analytics on massive multidimensional arrays, such as regular and irregular spatio-temporal grids. Its patented architecture is rigorously designed for performance and scalability, Existing databases exceed 100s of Terabytes and are going Petabyte; array queries have been split across more than 1,000 cloud nodes.

Spatio-temporal coverages appear in many of INSPIRE Annexes II and III, for this reason, INSPIRE based on the OGC WCS Standard has released a Technical Guidance for the implementation of INSPIRE Download Services using Web Coverage Services (WCS) .

Rasdaman offers support for the INSPIRE scenarios by providing:

  • federation capabilities, establishing a single seamless information space
  • particularly high performance (as confirmed by many data centers and agencies)
  • as OGC WCS Core Reference Implementation, the most comprehensive support for WCS and its extensions - in particular the WCPS geo raster query language
  • support for a plethora of data formats.

Licence type actually is LGPL for the client side, so rasdaman can be used in all environments without any "licence intrusion". The server (freestanding process) is GPL following a "give and take" approach.
